Neutron was my soul dog from the moment I saw him, dirty and cowering in the back of the kennel at the shelter. He was slated for euthanasia that day, but came home with me instead. We had ten wonderful years together. He was big brother to numerous foster pups and kittens, protected me, comforted me, and loved me unconditionally. I introduced him to his first squeaker toy and the comfort of a pillow-covered bed with fuzzy blankets. Cancer may have given him his wings, but no matter how much time passes, he’ll always be with me.
